We’re a team of volunteers committed to the well-being of shelter dogs
Our mission is simple: to fill the food bowls of dogs in need
Shelters and rescues around the world are burdened by high operating expenses. Meals for Mutts uses community fundraising to source and purchase food, relieving some of this burden.
We dream of a world where no dog ever has to suffer again
There are many incredible organizations around the world that help ensure dogs are safe and healthy before they find their forever homes.
We’re just doing our part to help more shelters keep those dogs well fed.
Our story
In October 2019, Loren travelled to Puebla, Mexico, to help with a spay and neuter clinic. During her time there, she met hundreds of dogs in need—at the clinic, on the streets, and in the shelter.
Loren learned about the financial struggles facing Funkytown Shelter. The Mexican economy was in rough shape and things were so tough that the shelter was substituting food with corn tortillas. They were cheaper and still helped fill the dogs’ bellies.
It was here that the idea for Meals for Mutts was born and quickly took root in Loren’s heart. She knew there would be adopters like her who would be saddened by the struggles and eager to help support the shelter that gave their dogs a fresh start.
To date, Meals for Mutts has helped fill the bowls of hundreds of dogs—and we’re far from finished. Want to help?
